You can see people in the subway, in the houses; in the offices use the computers. But the kinds of the computers are various. The biggest difference between the ordinary computer and the tablet computer is that the basic input device of the later is touchscreen, people can directly write on the computer’s screen. It is worth noting that the technology of touchscreen has been very mature, the most has the function of gesture recognition, it means even though your strokes is illegible, the computer still can recognize your handwriting.
One such tablet, the Apple iPad, has been a phenomenal success as a media-consumption device for watching movies, reading e-mail, surfing the Web, playing games, and other activities. But one thing is missing to make it the only device you need when going on a business trip: pen input.
Due to the last 40 years of human-machine interface (HMI) research, we have learned that successful interfaces rely on the combination of two key factors: capitalizing on the existing user skill-set, such as the ability to work with both hands simultaneously, and choosing the right input mechanism for performing a given task.
Pen input facilitates handwriting and drawing, which is important because our brain connectivity and the articulation in our arms, elbows, wrists, and fingers give us much greater motor skills when we use a tool. Neanderthals used tools to paint on the walls of their caves, and times haven’t changed that much. Everybody needs a pen, including children learning how to draw and write, engineers sketching a design, and businesspeople annotating a contract.
Accordingly, the ultimate goal for tablet designers should be to replicate the pen-and-paper experience. Pen and paper work so well together: resolution is high, there’s no lag between the pen movement and the depositing of ink, and you can comfortably rest your palm on the paper, with its pleasing texture.
Tablet Requirements
These qualities, however, are not easy to replicate in a tablet computer. You need high responsiveness, high resolution, good rendering, and palm rejection. Writing on a piece of glass with a plastic stylus is not an especially pleasing experience, so you also need coating on the glass and a shape and feel of a stylus that can approximate the pen and paper experience. Most importantly, you need an operating system and applications that have been designed from the ground up to integrate this new approach.
A key part of the equation is multi touch technology, but not just any multi touch. You need multi touch with a keen understanding of the touches happening on the screen. It needs to know if a particular finger touching the device is merely holding it or activating a menu, whether a certain contact point is a finger or a stylus, and, more importantly, it needs to distinguish a palm resting on the top of the display so a user can comfortably write on the device.
In short, handwriting on a tablet computer doesn’t require multi touch per se but smart detection of what’s happening on the screen. A capacitive touchscreen is not the answer for a professional device a businessperson can use. Capacitive multi touch is fine for finger-only input.
Dedicated styli for capacitive touchscreens exist. However, such styli feature a large, soft rubber tip that makes them impractical to use for content creation and editing. Optionally, capacitive touch panels may be combined with an active electromagnetic stylus technology, but such an option greatly increases the solution cost and integration complexity.
The VDM Solution
An alternative is the voltage-driven matrix (VDM), a truly multi touch technology that provides the necessary smart detection, including the all-important capabilities of handwriting rendering and palm rejection. For example, Stantum’s PMatrix detection platform lets users simultaneously move a pen or a stylus (and an unlimited number of fingers) on a screen.
VDM is similar to projected capacitive technology, as it employs conductive tracks patterned on two superimposed substrates (made of glass or hard plastic). However, whereas capacitive technology relies on proximity sensing, VDM is force activated, making it more user-centric and enabling it to work with a pen, a stylus, or any number of implements.
With the ordinary computer, we have to only use the key operation, and it is very time-wasting, especially inputting the Chinese, that we should input the whole complete word, and wait for appearance on the screen ,then input the next. The tablet computer revolution is well underway around the world, with handwriting becoming an increasingly necessary function. Accordingly, device designers and vendors should take proper heed, or they might soon be seeing the handwriting on the multi touch wall. With the technology of multi touch, people can enjoy more happiness in everywhere. And you can use these computers to do all the things, but the first thing you should do is putting your fingers on the touchscreen.

In the contemporary era, the energy consumption is unavoidable that with the high demand for industrial production and economical benefit. So we should come up with a method that make the energy conservation, the economic development and have it both ways. In the London, UK, the ministries planed to install the energy-busting traffic lights which apply led tube lamps as its primary lighting appliance on the highroads where is the most vulnerable place to pollution. This test got a big success that led tubes‘ energy consumption reduced the most while its time of duration is 10 times of the traditional lights.
The Mayor of London has announced that Transport for London (TfL) is to install “energy-busting” LEDs at 3,500 traffic lights at around 300 junctions in the city.
The reason, according to TfL, is that LED technology reduces electricity consumption- and the associated CO2 emissions that cause climate change-by a massive 60 per cent. For this reason this reason, the led tube lamps will be widely used.
These 300 new LED-equipped junctions will save 600 tonnes of CO2 emissions a year and around £200,000 in energy costs. LED lamps will replace the existing bulbs at 3,500 traffic signal heads, each of which currently contain at least three bulbs.
This introduction of LED traffic lights is claimed to be the largest of its kind in the UK. TfL is seeking to stimulate the development of LED traffic signals and to encourage more manufacturers to join the market.
It is expected that there will be a greater take-up across the UK as a result of TfL’s commitment to introducing the lights in large numbers.
The new lights are part of the Mayor’s efforts to reduce the Capital’s CO2 emissions by a total of 60 per cent by 2025.
Reducing emissions
The initiative follows the introduction of LED lighting at all London Buses roadside ticket machines and LED lighting at 3,500 solar powered bus stops (to provide illumination for the stop and signage) and 640 shelters – see news.
If LED lights are installed in all of London’s 6,000 junctions which have traffic signals, CO2 emissions could be reduced by around 12,000 tonnes a year.
The Mayor of London, Boris Johnson, said “I’ve seen the future and it comprises these tip-top, energy-busting traffic lights. Installing these eco-bulbs will cut the climate change emissions coming from London’s galaxy of traffic lights by over half, as well as saving money from energy bills.”
“We are pressing ahead to get many more of these illuminating orbs on to our streets to join a range of other energy-zapping measures already saving us money such as solar-powered bus stops and shelters.” [Editor’s note: yes folks, the Mayor of London really does talk like this!]
TfL is leading the way with LED Downlight trials, which it hopes will pave the way for their wider introduction across the UK. LED product designs and costs have rapidly improved dramatically in recent years and initial barriers specific to the requirements of the UK market are being overcome ahead of the installation in London next year.
TfL ran a small-scale trial of LED traffic lights in Croydon between January 2007 and August 2008. These trials demonstrated that a product suitable for the UK marketplace, with reduced power consumption and at a reasonable price was feasible.
Alan Bristow, Director of Traffic Operations, TfL said: ‘These new lights will not only cut CO2 emissions but they will also last about ten times longer than standard bulbs, meaning we will save on maintenance costs.
‘This is part of our efforts across TfL to cut CO2 emissions. On top of introducing new hybrid buses to London’s streets, we are currently exploring new technologies including more efficient led Tube station and tunnel lighting.”
Transport for London has issued an OJEU (Official Journal of the European Union) notice seeking companies to supply and fit the lights. The application period closes on 24 August. The scheme is being funded through TfL’s Climate Change Fund.
The energy consumption reduced remarkably after the replacement of existing lamps with LED T8 tube lighting. So to speak, although it’s just a small-scale project, but its influence is great. What is worth mentioning that these lamps are the green bulbs, so it can eliminate the CO2 emission. The London government conducted this project, with the cooperation of each party, such as led tube lighting suppliers, finally achieve the best result. Later, such like subways, tunnels in London and even other cities would imitate it, and we will get delightful result by the moment. The London residents were pound of the implementation of this program.

You first see LED T8 tube lighting, what do you think of them? We contact with LED, more and more time, it applied to the most lighting equipment’s, even the various electric products. But we ought to know that Led is not just one technical product, it contains a lot of items, and each item also contains various types. As the new product, led T8 tube lighting embodies the dominant position, please notice the article below.
Utility company San Diego Gas & Electric has partnered with Head’s restaurant in downtown San Diego, California, to install LED-based ambient lighting in a demonstration of energy efficiency and high-quality lighting. The solid-state lighting installation uses LED-based, T8-retrofit tubes in the kitchen, LED A-lamps in the dining area, and LED down lights in corridors. After the project, SDG&E concluded that LED lighting can deliver energy savings ranging from 31% to 91% in restaurant applications.
Hoard’s has long been a popular restaurant in the counter-culture, costal community of Ocean Beach just northwest of downtown San Diego. A visit from Food Network star Guy Fiery of “Diners, Drive-ins and Dives” extended the popularity of the restaurant to foodies visiting San Diego from around the globe. Last year, hoard’s opened a second location in downtown San Diego on the border of the Gas lamp Quarter. That new restaurant serves as the site for what SDG&E called a “Restaurant ambient lighting demonstration showcase.”
While the goal of the demonstration was energy efficiency, quality of lighting was also paramount in the restaurant application. “We take lighting for granted but it’s so important in my business,” said Honda’s owner Mike Hardin. “I always tell my customers that 90 percent of their taste buds are in their eyeballs.” Specifically, the lighting needs to render the colors in the food well; Fig. 1 shows one of the restaurant’s signature hamburgers under an LED A-lamp mounted in a suspended fixture.
A remodel of the space that would become the new hoards was already underway when Sedge’s Emerging Technologies Program got involved in the project. The contractor had installed 4-lamp lenses fluorescent proffers in the kitchen area spaced at 4-ft intervals in each dimension, totaling 52 lamps. In corridors, the contractor had installed recessed lights and planned to use 13 compact fluorescent lamps (CFLs) in those cans. A total of 42 incandescent lamps were intended for the suspended fixtures in the dining area.
LED lighting selection
SDG&E worked with lighting consultant Daryl DE Jean of Emerging Technologies Associates to plan a conversion to LED lighting. Ultimately the team chose a 9W LED A-lamp made by Duracell, whereas the prior plan was for 95W incandescent lamps. Duracell is better known for batteries but has launched a line of LED retrofit lamps (www.duracelllighting.com). DE Jean says that the LED lamps deliver 25-30 fc (foot-candle) at table level.
In the corridors, the team used a generic LED retrofit kit purchased at Home Depot in place of the CFL lamps. The 11W LED kits replaced what would have been 23W CFL.
The LED tubes T8 used in the kitchen also came from Duracell, although the company has yet to formally announce the products. The company’s website indicates that LED linear lamps are due this summer. While most LED Downlight requires that the fluorescent ballast be removed from the power circuit in the fixture, the Duracell lamps work with any rapid-start ballast, according to DE Jean. Moreover, he added that the Duracell T8s are on the order of 5% more efficient when used with ballast as opposed to being connected directly to line power.
2 show a troffer fixture in the kitchen with owner Hardin at the work surface. The only lights in the restaurant that aren’t LED based are the CFL lights that are visible on the upper left side of the photo over the cooking surfaces. The project team felt that LED-based lights would not be a good match for the heat rising from the cooking equipment, given the need for heat dissipation in LED lighting.
The troffers that were installed were not of the so-called Super T8 variety that uses both more-efficient lamps and ballasts to reduce energy. The fluorescent lamps would have dissipated 32W, but were replaced with 22W Duracell tubes.
Payback analysis
Table 1 summarizes the simple payback analysis of the project and is based on the following assumptions. The lights are on 5792 hours annually based on 16-hour days and the 362 days/year that the restaurant is open. The table presents a retrofit case meaning that payback factors-in the total cost of the LED lamps and fixtures used to replace the incumbent sources. In a new construction scenario where only the incremental cost of the LED lighting is considered, the payback drops considerably for both the down lights and T8 tubes to 1.44 and 3.88 years respectively.
But the story gets more compelling in the case of the LED T8s used in the kitchen. Generally, the lighting industry has not judged LED-based T8s as suitable replacements for fluorescent tubes. For example, the US Department of Energy (DOE) has documented LED T8 performance in a number of evaluations (). And while the LED tubes t8 use less energy than fluorescent lamps, they also produce less light and aren’t a good match for troffer fixtures designed to reflect the unidirectional output of fluorescent tubes. In the case of Honda’s, however, the directional nature of the LED was a good match to the application.
Indeed, after the LED lighting had been installed for several weeks, Honda’s workers reported that the lights in the kitchen were essentially too bright. SDG&E and Deena experimented and ultimately removed two of the LED T8s from each troffer.
For the time being, its’ characters conforms to the requirements of the electric products. And it indicates the products of LED are at high development stage, besides it, there are also other excellent LED products. The variety of LED can be used in every situation. In the case of HODAD’S, obviously, SDG&E will advocate LED lighting; the led tubes would achieve payback in the coming years. From the text you may have a brief understanding of the LED series products. You now must think the meaning of these products not only have good performance, but also worth to keep.

How do you set your weekends? Where do you bring your children to play? Owning the multi touch products, your children will prefer to play at home. Since the hot showing of Avatar, people are more and more familiar with the name of 3D, do you know what 3D means? 3D is short for three dimensions, the three dimensions refers to length, breadth, height, compare to the flat picture of the 2D technology, the picture produced by 3D technology is three-dimensional. And the 3D technology take us to the more realistic virtual world. In Australia, there was an exhibition about the world first class technology, among them, a gesture-recognition social software attracted people’s attention, many children touched the multi touch wall to have the immersive feeling of playing basketball.
“I’d say that gesture recognition is one of the most popular things right now,” observes Tom Hennes, an experience museum designer and principal with Thinc Design, New York City. “People enjoy the intuitive quality of this interface; they engage with it very readily,”
Another fascinating GestureXtreme application is at the Gondwana-Das Praehistorium in Schiffweiler, Germany, where players flap their arms, lean, and crouch to simulate a flying dinosaur that’s hunting for food and defending against predators.
“This form of interaction is educational yet highly entertaining,” explains Vincent John Vincent, president, GestureTek, Sunnyvale, CA. “We’ve found that visitors retain what they’ve learned much better and are more inclined to return for a second visit when they’ve experienced intense interaction with motion- and gesture-driven exhibits.”
A New Dimension
Another high-tech trend is 3D and 4D theaters, as museums are transporting technologies developed by the attraction industry into their own environments to make history come alive, says Greenbaum.
At the Newseum in Washington, D.C., a high-tech theater combines 3D video, motion-based seats, lighting, air and water spritzers, leg ticklers, and bottom kickers to accent the stories of famous news reporters in history, says Dan Laspa, project manager, Electrosonic, Burbank, CA, whose AV company specified Christie digital cinema projectors and a Stewart curved screen for the 4D experience.
In Denver, The Wildlife Experience interactive museum is set to debut a unique 3D walk-through exhibit created by Digital Revolution Studies and Real D (both known for their work on Avatar).
According to Jessy Clark, the museum’s director of programs, “We have six beautiful 3D monitors and spent many hours walking through the exhibit, selecting locations that wouldn’t be invasive to the visitor experience” as visitors stroll along wearing 3D glasses and viewing original footage of wildlife scenes. “The cameras are visible yet tucked away in areas where we felt we could use a ‘wow’ factor.”
Another striking exhibit in the Globeology section of the museum is called Science On a Sphere, designed by the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA). In this exhibit, constantly updated satellite images that portray environmental information, such as weather maps and sea turtle migration, are seamlessly projected onto a 6-foot globe. The combined effect of the four Sony projectors working together is a slowly rotating, 3D global image.
“By using Science On a Sphere to display NOAA’s data, we’re able to engage audiences of all ages and build public understanding of scientific, technological, and environmental topics,” explains Beth Russell, a scientific communications and data specialist with NOAA in Boulder, CO.
Fully embracing state-of-the-art multi touch wall technology to educate visitors about wildlife, the museum also features animatronics and touchscreen kiosks. “By interacting with animatronic ‘people,’ visitors ‘ask’ them questions by utilizing touchscreen technology,” explains Clark.
At the same time, creators of The Wildlife Experience put energy into integrating the technology with an eye on overall design. “By creating appealing kiosks for the touchscreens that blend into the exhibit, the screens are visible, but not awkward to visitors. The screens are small enough that, if the visitor chooses to read the traditional museum panels instead of the touchscreens, they don’t interfere with the look of each exhibit space,” adds Clark.
Emphasizing the importance of integrating technology in a careful, calculated manner, Hennes points out that “new technologies, when well-utilized, can broaden the palette of experience and enrich the power of that experience.” However, he says, when used superfluously, they’re distractions.
With these design guidelines in mind, the Newseum strategically selected various projector systems and LED signage to effectively immerse museums patrons into a multi-visual news environment. For instance, a large LED wall streams news feeds; projected video images highlight artifacts in the News History Gallery.
“The vision of the designer was to have the visitor surrounded by the flow of information, just as they would be in a real-life financial facility like Wall Street,” explains Newseum Vice President/Technology Jim Updike.
Another popular Newseum feature is the “Be a TV Reporter” interactive exhibit. Patrons deliver a news report from a teleprompter with a geographic location superimposed onto the background of the recorded footage.
Staying on Top of the Curve
Experts are emphasizing the importance of embracing and integrating state-of-the-art, interactive technology.
“Because technology has so changed the way people interact with information, media, and each other, museums fear being left behind if they don’t seek to adapt to current trends,” notes Hennes. “They also see this as a competitive necessity; competing for leisure time with many other types of venues, they have to avail themselves of every opportunity to support visitorship and interest.”
Similarly, Clark predicts, “As we move into the future and the world of high-tech everything, it’s important that museums stay on top of the technology to provide their visitors with a meaningful, engaging experience. It’s definitely the wave of the future.”
Along with this charge is striking a balance between telling stories with artifacts while using technology to enhance that learning experience. “While advanced technology for AV media and computer interactive techniques are compelling, they have a limited shelf life as the technology ages and wears down,” observes Greenbaum. “In addition, the cost of new and/or replacement technologies can be staggering, so it will always remain important to create a balance between [between] low- and high-tech to make emotional and intellectual connections with visitors.”
The High-Tech Transformation
Experts agree that the high-tech museum revolution will continue; Hennes predicts rapid growth in this arena in the next 2 to 5 years. In particular, the New York designer sees a greater adoption of real-time simulation technology with sophisticated 2D and 3D displays and interfaces, and video projectors changing from heat-intensive light sources to LEDs, which will miniaturize projectors, opening up many new applications to video-projected environments.
Vincent sees 3D tracking systems gaining traction as the cost of 3D depth-sensing cameras come down. With GestureTek and Hitachi set to release the first remote gesture-controlled television this year, and the next generation of gaming technology effectively eliminating hand-held controls, we’re bound to see more museum applications.
Currently, there is much demand for surface technologies, like interactive walls, floors, and tables, and free-floating screens, as well as multi touch technology that enables museum visitors to virtually manipulate and control on-screen content with hand movements (just like Tom Cruise in Minority Report).
In the past, it’s hard to image how to create the three-dimensional picture on the flat surface, so the two dimensional surface have been represented to us for a quite long time, this kind of picture, even though the quality is good enough, will always lack the truest sense, but the scientists utilize the technology to cover the shortage. While the children touch the touchscreen, they feel they enter into another world which is so realistic, and the museum becomes another attractive place for the children relative to the amusement parks, in a word, the technology will always take surprise to people. Children are our hope for future, their happiness is so important to us, so you can buy multi touch products for your children .They will play and learn happily.

Almost everyday we spend money on the products, the products we don’t consider whether we need them. Life is an easy one, but it contains much more, even the concept of our ideas, what we believe really, the techniques or rules of the nature. We wish our behaviors have no harm to our environment, that’s the reason why we invent better products to overcome the disadvantages, the same reason for inventing LED tube light. We can see as there is an unprecedented level of interest and effort focused on implementing “green” designs for sustainable building today, LED tube light, such as LED Downlight may play a more important role in lighting. Compared to conventional fluorescent lights, advantages claimed for LED tube lamps are that they contain no mercury.
With the advent of LED-based solid-state lighting (SSL), companies and individuals can slash greenhouse-gas emissions while positively impacting the financial bottom line. Indeed, while LED lighting costs more than other technologies, savings in energy and maintenance costs more than cover the upfront premium. And with LED tube lamps dropping in price, SSL becomes more of a bargain every day.
The supposedly green, environmentally-friendly CFLs contain mercury, albeit a small amount. A fact sheet about CFLs from the US Environmental Protection Agency notes that, “Exposure to mercury, a toxic metal, can affect our brain, spinal cord, kidneys and liver, causing symptoms such as trembling hands, memory loss, and difficulty moving.” It goes on to add that, “Mercury is released into our environment when products with mercury are broken, disposed of improperly, or incinerated. If you break a CFL, clean it up safely.”
Many states, cities and counties have outlawed the disposal of CFLs in the trash. Does anyone actually believe that CFLs survive intact in a landfill after a bulldozer has compacted the load into place? This assumes, of course, that a CFL actually arrives at a landfill in one piece.
LED tube light, conversely, is poised to deliver on energy savings with a positive environmental impact. With LED tube light, businesses can reduce costs and not have to be concerned about proper disposal because the lights can be recycled.
Another obvious advantage of LED tube lamps is the long lifespan promoted by technology. With a minimum life of 50,000 hours, LED tube lamps last five times longer than their nearest competitors. When compared with incandescent lamps (average life of 2,000 hours) the disparity is even more remarkable. Given their solid-state circuitry, LED tube lamps are very durable. It takes a lot more than accidentally dropping or hitting an LED light to render it inoperable.
One of the major advantages of LED tube lamps is that they can be placed in hard-to-reach locations that are sometimes accessible only with special lifts or scaffolding. Once in place, it will be years before these lights will need to be changed. Often, businesses wait until the number of burned-out light bulbs reaches critical mass before making replacements. And then, usually, all of the bulbs, including those that are still working, are replaced at the same time. The longevity aspect of led tubes can save businesses thousands of dollars in maintenance costs, not to mention operating costs from reduced electricity usage.
The decrease in electricity usage can actually have a double benefit in some situations. LED tube lamps are often eligible for rebates and other cash incentives provided by governmental agencies and public utilities, thereby greatly reducing their cost of ownership. Another economic advantage of LED tube light for businesses is that due to their long lives, the initial cost can be capitalized on a company’s balance sheet and depreciated over a period of five to ten years. This is an important feature for publicly-traded companies because it can significantly decrease operating costs which, of course, increases reported net income.
The reduction in energy use has another benefit. For example, T8 LED Tube is the latest LED-based T8 tube in the ATG Electronics product lineup. It combines numerous practical and technical advantages in one product and is rightly considered the best solution on the market for the replacement of conventional fluorescent tubes. As less electricity must be produced, less coal must be burned in coal-fired power plants to supply that electricity. A significant amount of electricity produced in the United States comes from burning coal. This means that as less electricity is used, less coal is burned, and therefore less carbon dioxide (a greenhouse gas), sulfur dioxide, nitrous oxides, and mercury are emitted to the environment.
LED T8 tube lighting represents the most significant development in lighting since the invention of the electric light more than a century ago. LED tube light offers an energy-efficient, low maintenance form of indication or illumination. LED tube lamps, such as T8 LED Tube, do not contain mercury and in many cases steps are being taken to replace lead-containing solders (used mainly to fix LEDs to circuit boards) with lead-free material, in line with European directives. We will see the wave of owning led products is coming soon, and everyone is ready to fight in the market.

The rapid development of e -technology, everyone owns the products, like telephone, e-book and so on. Now the later research will discuss the use of multi touch technology for the interactive wall design in the viewpoint of converting space into interface.

Remember in the film ‘Minority Report’, the actor Tom Cruise wearied gloves, using a variety of hand positions on stereo photograph on the screen, data and image scaling, rotating, mobile and luxuriant action and three-dimensional image manipulation interface? Watching the film, you will believe the audiences in such novel with an operation mode. This scene must leave you a deep impression, and it will almost certainly have apex technology application acclaim voice. Today’s technology uses a new type of multi-touch screen technology, which imports in the future computers, mobile phones and science and technology products. It is no longer limited to science and technology in the movie. People have long been used to use the mouse to control a computer screen, which makes the multi touch has more touch screen technology. And this cannot point in science and technology products get a complete application. To the user’s point of view, use your fingers on the screen directly operation can act more accurately. In addition, there are lots of 3 D image or image processing software interface, in the process of control design is too complicated, must want to match the mouse and keyboard used together, even many operating mode depends also on intuition and experience, make the best of the control method. Therefore, if use multi touch technology, instead of using the current keyboard (button), mouse, will further reflects the trend of human control interface.

Touchscreen is also known as “touch panel”. It is a kind of touch input signal can be received top of inductive liquid crystal display device. When contacts with the screen graphic button, the sense of touch screen feedback system in advance of the programming according to drive connections program device, can be used to replace mechanical button panel, and borrows by liquid crystal display screen made vivid audio effect. Touch screen as a new computer input device, it is the most simple and convenient before eyes, natural a man-machine interactive way. It gives the multimedia with a brand new look. And also it is intriguing new multimedia interactive devices. Mainly used in public information query, leadership office, industrial control system and the military command, electronic games, the song to order, the multimedia teaching, real estate to open to booking, etc.
The ability to directly touch and manipulate data on the screen without using any intermediary devices has averred strong appeal to users. In particular, novices benefit most from the directness of touch screen displays. A fast learning curve and inherent robustness makes touch screens an ideal interface for interacting with public installations, such as information kiosks, automated teller machines, ticketing machines, or gambling devices. And also it has some features, such as transparent, absolutely coordinate system and reliability and stability.

Multi touch wall is also the electronic product. It is different from the ordinary touch wall .It is a 2 by 1 meters touch sensitive surface, where one can interact with the projected media with one’s fingers, hands, as well as more people at a time. We programmed a set of simple applications, where one can paint with hands; navigate a mind-map collaboratively, for example. Its high quality and new kinds enjoy the favors of people all around the world. Now we can see in the market there are many kinds of it, such as i8 touch wall, i5 touch wall and so on. These kinds of products always make you stop your steps and attract your eyes. We built this interface so we can learn and develop interesting and new kinds of contents for such interfaces, which are becoming more and more popular nowadays.

With the raise of science and technology, many products with high technologies are retrofitted constantly in order to meet the higher requirements, such as in the lighting industry. There are diversified illumination tools in the market for satisfy the various demands, however the science and technology are developed rapidly, accordingly, the equipments and products are also developed, they need more perfect lighting to match. LED lighting gradually turns to be the dominant lighting now, so it draws our more attention and impels the scientists to research on LED Downlight to perfect the LED lighting and promote the whole lighting’s development.
Many residents of Long Island, NY can buy the Energy Star-qualified Cooper Lighting All-Pro LED Retrofit Recessed Downlight at a deeply discounted price during the month of November. The Long Island Power Authority (LIPA) is promoting the solid-state-lighting (SSL) technology as an energy-saving tool through its Residential Energy Efficient Lighting Program with cooperation from nine electrical-distributor partners.
The Cooper LED downlight is designed to replace existing incandescent downlights and at 15W deliver the light output of typical 65W BR30 incandescent lamps. The product includes an LED module and recessed trim, and Cooper says that it will fit into 5- and 6-inch recessed housings that have been sold by many vendors including Cooper’s own Halo and All-Pro lines.
“Energy Star-qualified led tubes can use up to 75% less energy and lasts at least 25 times longer than incandescent bulbs,” said LIPA chief operating officer Michael Hervey. “Lighting can account for up to 15 percent of the average electric bill, mostly due to the use of inefficient fixtures and light bulbs.”
Cooper and LIPA did not reveal the discounted selling price, but a survey of some of the participating distributors revealed a price in the $40 range. Home Depot, meanwhile, lists the product for $59.97 on its website. The discount will certainly reduce the payback period on the investment, although not to the one year mark that many industry experts suggest consumers will demand before adopting SSL on a broad scale.
Cooper rates the LED downlight for 50,000 hours and that equates to more than 20 years in a typical residential usage scenario. Copper says it will save consumers $350 over the life of the product. The SSL retrofit delivers 600 lm with a warm-white 3000K CCT.
“As homeowners become more receptive to new lighting technologies, they not only want energy-efficient solutions, but high quality, reliable ones,” said Cooper Lighting president Mark Eubanks. “Cooper Lighting’s All-Pro LED Retrofit Recessed Downlight meets these needs by using tested LED technology to achieve the savings and quality of light that homeowners desire.”
The participating distributors include AC Electrical Supplies, Continental Lighting, Duplex Electrical Supply, Greenvale Electric Supply, Michaels Electrical Supply, N&S Electric Supply, Revco Lighting and Electrical Supply, and Yorktown Electrical & Lighting Distributors. Each will display the product and offer the discount during the month of November.
LIPA’s Hervey added, “We continue to assist and encourage customers to replace inefficient lighting with new LED technology at a reduced cost, which in turn will result in lower electric use and lower bills for our customers.”
The scientists are devoted to discovering the best lighting solutions all the time, and they have gotten some achievements at present, that the effect of saving energy is more remarkable than before after researching and retrofitting the UL LED tube light. The perfect lighting solution can help to improve the energy efficiency, in addition, it can encourage the LED suppliers to strengthen the performance and production of LED lights, and then, the massive production of LED T8 tube lighting will lead to the lower price for people, people can benefit more from LEDs. In brief, the LEDs’ position in the market is more and more important.

In Europe, many cathedrals are of long history, and most of them become the tourist attractions, there are many tourists come to visit every year. But on account of the centuries-old history, some parts of these cathedrals have to be restored, and the program includes the design of lighting system. The lighting is very crucial to the whole impression of cathedrals, so it requires the personnel of cathedrals to choose the most suitable lighting, and most of them think of the LED Downlight as the preference. Now, the German institution implements the program of LED tube lighting in a famous cathedral.
Customised products from Hess AG’s architectural lighting series were the choice. The jury was looking for a milestone project that would have a significant impact on the use of LED technology in Germany. Freiburg’s concept was exactly what they imagined.
Having a reputation as a green city, Freiburg has steadfastly pursued an ambitious environmental course for years. “Our rich past is also of immense value,” states Professor Dr. Martin Haag, city director of planning and development, while citing the reconstruction after 1945 of the historic old city and the attractive power of the city’s medieval flair, which draws over 12 million day tourists annually. Lighting designer Walter Bamberger’s assignment included the development of a lighting plan for the cathedral that would underscore the old city’s character. “People frequenting the plaza around the cathedral should say this is Freiburg, not London or New York,” is how Haag explains his objective, which he communicated to the lighting designer.
Bamberger sees the plaza around the cathedral “as one the few places in Germany where one should feel the darkness.” For this reason, he decided on warm white LEDs and low luminance levels. “The cathedral should have a very live Middle-Age presence for people sitting at the plaza’s south side drinking a glass of wine in the evening,” says Bamberger, explaining the atmospheric objective of the lighting that shrouds the Gothic structure at night.
Lighting design with a tactful touch
From his years of experience, Bamberger knows “working with less light is one of the greatest challenges for a lighting designer.” Add to the lighting designer’s list of project objectives the requirement for a sizeable degree of three-dimensionality and depth, as well as the predetermined points of installation for the fixtures that illuminate the towers and you have a formidable task on your hands. “Standard lighting solutions would be at their limits here,” states Bamberger. Hess AG’s led tubes proved to be exceptionally versatile and modifiable.
Together with Lehner WerkMetall, a cooperation partner of the Hess Group, Hess modified optical systems, based on information obtained from computer simulations, added diffusers and light baffles, and adapted heat sinks, drivers and transformers. Colour filters adjust the light colour to match the cathedral’s century-old sandstone. “Thanks to the modifications, the lighting really brings out the character of the architecture,” Jürgen Lehner says.
Lehner tested the accent lighting system several times on site to evaluate its aesthetic quality. When necessary, Hess and Lehner incorporated the results in modifications performed at Lehner’s lighting laboratory prior to performance tests that took place at the laboratory in Bamberger’s engineering firm in Pfünz, which is near Eichstätt, Germany. Since facade textures, light colour, the atmospheric and three-dimensional effects of the lighting cannot be simulated in a laboratory, field testing was for Lehner “indispensible for achieving optimum results.”
Precision-tuned in-ground luminaries
Over 40 modified Teramo luminaires from Hess are installed grade-flush in the cobblestone pavement around Freiburg’s landmark and within two metres of the cathedral’s outer walls. They illuminate the figures, walls, Gothic main portal and Renaissance south portal. The linear, 675-mm long and 220-mm wide Teramo fixtures feature parallel reflector systems. “We modified the individual reflectors’ spread patterns to suit the Gothic wall geometries,” explains Lehner.
In addition, the designers scaled the wattage of the light sources individually for the different reflector systems. Custom-designed diffusers provide wide, homogenous distribution of light parallel to the fixtures’ longitudinal axis. Light baffles are integrated into the reflectors’ surfaces in the in-ground luminaires.
“They virtually eliminate glare for people standing near the luminaires, so that it’s possible to walk around the cathedral without the slightest trace of visual discomfort,” says Lehner. Teramo luminaires illuminate the outer walls of the nave and clerestory from the roofs of the aisles and quire. And completing the installation, four smaller, square in-ground luminaires bathe three columns at the front of the cathedral in light.
The good lighting effect offers more convenience to the personnel of cathedrals, including the priests, the clergymen, the believers, they reflected that the LED lighting made them more comfortable to read and sing in the cathedrals, as well as other activities. All these benefit from the good performance of LED lighting relative to the traditional lighting, and it also embodies the importance of the development of technologies. The LED tube suppliers are proud of making contribution to the cathedrals, such this important place, they say they will continue with the research of lighting solution with the renewed efforts. The tomorrow of LED T8 tube lighting will be better.
